Fan reviews from Bellingham A+++Longview "hear we come"

Reviews;
1.) Bear posted a review on Karmas message board http://www.karmaswrestlingretro.com/ and this is in part what he had to say " A lot of his stories were familiar to me, But in this arena, he had a chance to go into them as in depth as he wanted and this led to some stories, like Victor the Bear, being so much more vivid, detailed and hilarious. Without giving up too much of the show, I will say he did a great bit on Vinny Mac, Had a retrospective & "Live" Pipers Pit segment, a dedicated segment to "The Frats", and kept the audience hanging on every word. Mean Gene was on the bill as well & had his own segment where he shared some his own wrestling memories. Then Hot Rod came out to join him, and they reminisced on past events together, although with not exactly the same recollections. They still have a really good chemistry between them. All in All it was AWESOME!! I'd say most of the crowd was 30 or older, but all the younger ones I observed seemed to have just as much fun as the older fans who were around to appreciate Rod's matches first hand. A warning for the kiddies, that the show does have some "Blue" language & Bawdy humor, But that is part of Roddy charm,....He tell's it like it is, with his unique charisma, only the way that he can.
There was also an autograph section with Hot Rod afterwards, where he spent some time with each fan. I got to talk only briefly with Rod, I didn't want to hold up the line for the other eagerly waiting fans, and he posed for a new pic with the family, But he gave his regards to the Screamin' DeVilles and said he'd give us some promo on the tour, which I hadn't ask for, But thought was really cool that he offered.
So, What's the Bottom Line? Well, I may be biased, Bit I give it a 10 out of 10. He definately left you wanting more of the show after it was over. If any of his other shows were closer, I'd probably go see another one.

Just got back home from the Bellingham show. My son and I had the BEST time! We showed up at 5pm to be first in line and as such scored front row dead center! The show was wonderful and Roddy was such a gentleman waiting as long as it took to spend a few minutes with each and every fan after the show. He was even nice enough to not only sign the pictures we purchased and my WrestleMania XIX program (right over Hogans face like I asked!) but he also signed the large crib sheet that gave a rough outline of the show's 1st act that was at the foot of the stage that I swiped after the show! There was one for each act and they were made so he would not wander too far off course and being an ADHD sufferer myself I totally understand! He seemed amused that I snaked the crib sheet telling me how much they help him and singed it with a large and elaborate signature. Truly an item I will forever treasure! I plan to take the big crib sheet and the photos and ticket stubs and create a large framed peice that celebrates the evening my son and I shared with the one, the only, Rowdy Roddy Piper! I cannot give Roddy and his staff enough thanks for putting on such a great show and for being so accomodating to the fans. You are one class act Mr. Piper!

Bellingham and beyond. Ten years ago on the Larry King talk show Rod mentioned that he wanted to do a national tour, a one man standup "tell it all" tour.
Well Rod's dream has finely come to reality thanks to Moore/Cain Productions. Now it's up to the fans to come an show their love and respect for one of the WWF's notorious personalities. Who doesn't know "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.

Rod would like to thank Mike "Z" Zatine the owner of the Frontier Ford Superstore in Skagit Valley for the blitz advertising package he volunteered days before the Bellingham opening. http://www.frontierfordusa.com/ 800-896-5267 ask for "Z".

"Mean Gene" Okerlund joins The Rowdy Roddy Piper Show

On Saturday, April 1, one of the long-time voices of WWE will take his place among the greats when “Mean” Gene Okerlund is inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
In over 30 years in sports-entertainment, Okerlund has become one of, if not the most recognizable announcers in the business. Nicknamed “Mean Gene” by longtime colleague and fellow Minnesotan Jesse Ventura, Okerlund began as a backstage interviewer in the Minneapolis-based AWA in the early 1970s.
In his early days, Mean Gene was often seen interviewing some of the greatest stars in the AWA, including Bobby Heenan and his protégés and Hulk Hogan. In 1984, Mean Gene came to WWE as a backstage announcer, and sang the National Anthem at the first WrestleMania in 1985.
During his time in WWE, Gene became the lead backstage interviewers, but he also did ringside commentary and was the host of several shows, including All-American Wrestling and Tuesday Night Titans. He also hosted the Event Center and Update segments on such shows as Superstars of Wrestling, Wrestling Challenge and Prime Time Wrestling. In his decade in WWE, Gene also stepped into the ring once, teaming with Hulk Hogan to defeat Mr. Fuji and George “The Animal” Steele.
Gene moved to WCW in 1993, where he was the lead backstage interviewer until the company was bought by WWE in 2001. He returned to WWE at WrestleMania X-Seven to announce the Gimmick Battle Royal with Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, and he went on to host WWE Confidential for its entire existence.
Today, Mean Gene still makes occasional appearances on WWE programming. He has hosted several segments on WWE 24/7 On Demand, and interviewed Hulk Hogan in the ring at WWE Homecoming this past October. With all that he has accomplished in his career, Okerlund will be able to add one more accolade to his resume come April 1: WWE Hall of Famer.

Fan response
We're always glad to spread the word best we can when it involves Rod. He helped us out a few years back by starring in a music video for our band. But unfortunately we were unable to break thru to MTV. Click on the link to see the SD's/video http://www.mcnichol.com/sd/media.htm

The "Rowdy" Roddy Piper Show launches blog

The "Rowdy" Roddy Piper Show is a two hour "tell it all" one man standup performance where he'll have you laughing and crying at the sametime. Now added to the show Mean Gene Oakerlund.

We have bookings for more then 30 shows across the USA. This is theplace to come for show information.

Roddy a WWE era Hall of famer, when being inducted to the Hall Of fame by16 timesworld heavy weight champion Rick Flare said and I quote " The Greatestentertainer in the history of professional wrestling bar none Rowdy Roddy Piper". Hot Rod as said by Mean Gene Oakerlund in the the Hall of fame footage "Was one of the few wrestler to lay claim to being the most hated and the most beloved wrestler in WWE wrestling history.

"Just when you think you got the answers, I change the questions!" was his motto and a weekly interview segment called "Piper's Pit" where he would irritate his guests to the point where a feud would follow. The most infamous "Pipers Pit" incident occurred when Piper cracked Jimmy Snuka over the head with a coconut. Later on, Piper's Pit was used as a vital set-up for the Hulk Hogan vs Andre The Giant showdown at Wrestlemania III.By that time, the "Hot Rod" had turned face and had a spectacular match of his own at WMIII against Adrian Adonis, who wound up bald at the end of the match! You knew the Hot Rod was a tough cookie when he boxed Mr.T at Wrestlemania II and made T look absolutely ridiculous in the process.

Piper was the ultimate rebel of the wrestling world, black balled and out of professional wrestling for refusing to take a dive for 17 1/2 years. Piper has shared the ring with everyone from Andrea the Giant, Hulk Hogan, Muhammad Ali,and a 650 lb Kodiak Bear named Victor.
